Royal Crown Derby's well known established brand represents over 250 years of tradition and skill handed down through generations. Every piece of Royal Crown Derby is manufactured from start to finish at the factory in Derby, which is in the heart of England. Porcelain was first produced in Derby around 1748 and the quality of these early piece soon gained the recognition of Royalty. In 1755 King George III honoured the company by granting the use of the crown in the backstamp. The "Royal" title came later in 1890 from Queen Victoria giving the company it's uniqe title of "Royal Crown Derby". Royal Crown Derby is noted for it's highly decorative yet distinct style, bright colours and lavish application of gold.
